Position Description

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable IT professional to manage and support our small business IT infrastructure. This role blends server and network administration with hands-on desktop support. You will ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver reliable assistance to end-users. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys handling diverse responsibilities.
This is a permanent position with a full-time schedule 7:30am – 4:00pm. Working FT 40 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

Server & Network Administration

  • Administer and monitor Windows and Linux servers, including setup, patching, and backups.
  • Manage Active Directory, user accounts, and permissions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Maintain secure and reliable internet connectivity; implement VPN and firewall rules.

Desktop Support

  • Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Resolve escalated technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Install and update software, antivirus, and security patches.
  • Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding (hardware setup, account creation).

IT Operations

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for configurations and procedures.
  • Support cloud services (Microsoft 365) and basic VoIP systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement and repairs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2–4 years in IT support with exposure to servers and networking.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Windows Server fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP.
    • Networking basics (TCP/IP, VPN, firewall configuration).
    • Desktop OS (Windows/macOS) and common business applications.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MTA/MCSA, or equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
