Mortgage Underwriting Trainer
Job Brief
We are looking for a Mortgage Underwriting Trainer responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to new and existing underwriting staff. This role ensures that underwriters have the knowledge and skills to effectively evaluate and approve mortgage loan applications while adhering to company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. The role requires close collaboration with various departments to identify training needs, create impactful training materials, and assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop training manuals, presentations, and other educational resources.
- Ensure training materials are current and relevant to the needs of learners.
- Conduct training sessions in various formats (classroom, virtual, hands-on).
- Foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment.
- Encourage active participation and discussion among learners.
- Adjust training methods and materials based on feedback and learner performance.
- Provide additional support and resources to learners who require extra assistance.
- Continuously enhance personal knowledge and skills through professional development.
- Analyze training outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure all training programs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other trainers, management, and stakeholders to align training programs with organizational goals.
- Adapt strategies to overcome challenges and ensure successful learning outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree in business, banking, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with a strong understanding of mortgage products, processes, and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting processes and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in using training software and e-learning platforms.
- Ability to simplify complex information and convey it clearly.
- Analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
- Successful completion of a Train-the-Trainer program.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in training, with a focus on conducting sessions for diverse groups.
