Sr. Server Administrator
Job Brief
We are looking for a Senior Server Administrator who is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This role includes installing hardware and software and ensuring that backend systems hosted on State Data Center/Cloud Infrastructure are continuously improved, secure, and operational.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Maintain VMWare & Hyper-V virtualization environments.
- Assist with provisioning and maintaining servers in Azure and AWS Cloud environments.
- Manage Active Directory, group policies, ADFS, Azure AD, and associated services.
- Administer Windows server-based network infrastructure services, including DNS and DHCP.
- Support Office 365 email administration and on-premises email servers/relays.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot backup solutions such as Veeam and Commvault.
- Control access to network file shares and storage.
- Apply software and operating system patches on a regular maintenance schedule.
- Perform daily monitoring of server and network equipment.
- Oversee and manage assigned network and system security tasks.
- Coordinate with network administrators to control server and application access.
- Work closely with hardware and software vendors for technical support.
- Create and maintain system documentation for business continuity.
- Maintain accurate server hardware inventory.
- Adapt to rapidly changing environments while maintaining organizational standards.
- Manage projects of varying lengths with an organized and proactive approach.
- Provide technical support and training to end users.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in WSUS, SCCM, Intune, DHCP, DNS, LDAP/Active Directory.
- In-depth knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols.
- Experience with Change, Incident, and Release Management processes.
- Proficiency in UAT and production server maintenance.
- Expert understanding of helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Experience working with State Data Center/National Datacenter/AWS/Azure or similar cloud operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.

- Self-motivated team player with the ability to complete tasks independently.
