Job Brief

The Trailing Docs/Final Docs Specialist is responsible for reviewing and managing final mortgage loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements. This role tracks outstanding documents, follows up on exceptions, and updates information within company systems. The specialist also maintains document records, monitors reporting queues, and coordinates the filing and shipment of loan documents. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced mortgage operations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a formal review and inspection of all final loan documents to ensure accuracy and completeness within the designated time period. Capture any required data elements in the application.
  • Follow up via email or phone on pending documents/exceptions.
  • Record (check-in) documents as they are received and add any comments into the database.
  • Monitor reports to track outstanding documents.
  • File and retrieve documents as necessary to ship to their final destination.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience working with mortgage and title documents.
  • Title Company or Post Closing related experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn and work with new applications/platforms.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Physical Requirements

This position requires you to be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
