Job Brief

The Underwriting Auditor needs to complete minimum required audits of closed loans for client within 24 hour turn time. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of various loan products inclusive of: agency conventional, FHA, VA and USDA programs.
  • Complete thorough audit, re-Underwriting the loan and using client provided checklist as guide. 
  • Update client systems with review findings and saving checklist on clients shared drive.
  • Create clear comments in client systems so Correspondent easily understands items required.
  • Research any guideline issues using GSE databases, Client Guide and web.
  • Communicate any questions that cannot be satisfied by the Client Guide and web to supervisor for resolution.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Regional UW’s when directed to contact them.
  • Stay apprised of ever changing processes and adapt accordingly. 
  • Strong income analysis skills, including complex self-employed calculations

Maintain a high level of confidentiality of company and borrower information.

  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong Time Management Skills.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of loan frontline and/or due diligence underwriting experience in a fast paced mortgage banking environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of agency conventional loans, including strong understanding of AUS findings.
  • FHA, VA & USDA knowledge preferred.
  • Moderate computer skills required.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • High School Diploma
  • College Degree Preferred
  • At least five years’ related Underwriting experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and Instant Messenger.
  • Ability to work in several web applications simultaneously. .
