Why Clients Choose Indecomm: Growth in a Contracting Market

Origination volumes have been under pressure for three years. Higher rates reduced loan counts across the industry, and many lenders and servicers responded by reviewing their outside relationships closely. Budgets tightened, contracts were renegotiated and some vendor relationships were consolidated or ended. New client acquisition became difficult for many providers.

Over that same period, Indecomm grew. We added an average of 70 new engagements and 36 new clients per year over the past three fiscal years, and we are on pace to do the same in 2026.
I want to explain where that growth came from, because it says as much about what lenders need right now as it does about Indecomm. When volumes are high, lenders bring on partners to add capacity. When volumes are low, they keep and expand the partners who reduce cost, protect quality and give them room to plan. The decisions our clients made over the past three years reflect the second set of priorities.

Two sources of growth

Our growth came from two places: new-logo wins and existing clients expanding their work with us. Both matter. New clients tell us the market sees value in our model. Expanding clients tell us that value holds up after the contract is signed.
Existing clients have expanded across audit, quality control, due diligence reviews, underwriting, post-closing and servicing, and into our Genius AI Suite. Some relationships grow wider as clients add new functions. Others grow deeper as our teams take on more volume, more complexity and more responsibility in areas they already support. In our longest relationships, both happen.
Expansion is the clearest measure of performance we have. A client who adds a second or third service line has already seen how we work in the first one. They have seen our turnaround, our accuracy, and how we respond when something goes wrong. That decision is based on evidence, and in a tight market it is made carefully.
Steve Abreu, Founder and CEO of Newfi, described that kind of relationship directly. “Indecomm has been a trusted partner to Newfi for many years and supports a significant part of our day-to-day operations, functioning as a true extension of our team,” he said, adding that our expertise across multiple services allows Newfi to scale efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy.

New technology engagements

Automation is a growing share of our new business. Two recent engagements show the pattern.
A top 15 U.S. bank, one of the country’s largest home equity and mortgage lenders, licensed IDXGenius | ai and DecisionGenius as part of a bank-wide effort to automate its mortgage origination process. That is an enterprise decision, made by an institution with significant internal technology resources and a rigorous evaluation process.
Separately, a large, fast-growing fintech mortgage lender expanded its relationship with us to automate a new HELOC offering using IDXGenius | ai and DecisionGenius. That client already worked with us on post-closing and fulfillment services. The automation engagement built directly on an existing services relationship.
The second engagement reflects a path we see regularly. Clients learn how our teams operate on the services side, and that experience shapes their confidence in our technology. When they launch a new product or reassess an existing process, they come back to us.

How clients engage with us

Our engagement model gives clients multiple ways to work with us. Some start with services and expand into automation over time. Others begin with automation from day one. In either case, they get the same combination of a global execution model, deep mortgage expertise and a growing portfolio of AI and automation solutions.
This flexibility allows lenders to start where the need is most urgent and expand when they are ready. A lender facing a QC backlog can start there. A lender preparing to launch a new product can start with automation. Neither path requires a commitment to the full platform on day one. That lowers the barrier to starting and is one of the main reasons existing clients continue to add work with us.

Support beyond origination

Our work extends beyond origination into servicing and default servicing. That coverage matters in the current environment. When market conditions affect loan performance, servicing teams face heavier and more complex workloads. Clients who already work with us have support in place, with teams who know their portfolios and can scale with them.
For lenders and servicers, this means one partner can support the loan from origination through servicing and, when needed, default. Fewer handoffs between providers means fewer points where information is lost and fewer relationships to manage.
Mary Stanford, VP of Servicing Operations at Renovo Financial Mortgage Services, spoke to the day-to-day side of that support. She said communication “has been effective and responsive, and the work they’ve done with our releases and AOMs has consistently been fast, accurate, and reliable.” She added, “We couldn’t be happier with the support and service they provide.”
Consistent execution is what keeps clients expanding. It is also what they evaluate most closely when budgets tighten.

Investment and financial position

We have been developing and deploying automation solutions for 11 years. The Genius AI Suite now supports critical parts of the mortgage lifecycle, from audit and quality control to underwriting, decisioning and closing, helping clients improve turnaround times, operating efficiency and scalability.
That investment continued through the slowdown. Indecomm remains debt-free and cash flow positive, and that position allows us to keep investing in our service lines, our people and our technology platforms while the market is tight. For clients, it means the products and services they rely on will continue to be supported and developed. When a lender commits to a partner’s technology, the partner’s financial stability is part of that decision.
Rajan Nair, our CEO, described our growth as “a direct result of the value our teams and our technology deliver every day, and of our sustained investment in developing and deploying automation solutions over the last 11 years.”

Culture and execution

Our culture is key to our success, and it is what allows us to continue investing in automation and technology even as the market tightens. Indecomm has more than 25 years of experience in this industry and a 1,500-strong global workforce. That experience and that team are what clients are buying when they engage us.
Our focus remains on our clients, our people and continuing to grow the business. Our strength has always been our resilience and our ability to stay focused on execution regardless of the market environment.

What this means for lenders reviewing partners

1. If you are evaluating partners this year, a few questions will tell you a great deal.
2. Has the partner grown or contracted over the past three years? Growth in a difficult market indicates that clients are choosing to stay and to add work.
3. Are existing clients expanding with them? Expansion is a strong signal, because it comes from clients who have seen the work firsthand.
4. Can they support you across the full lifecycle, including servicing and default servicing? Coverage beyond origination matters most when loan performance shifts.
5. Are they financially positioned to keep investing? Financial stability determines whether a partner can keep building while the market is tight.

6. We would be interested to hear how other operations leaders are approaching partner reviews this year.
